How It Works
- Request. You give your town, the type of property, the floor area in m² and the finish you want.
- Match. Your request goes to independent flooring contractors that may cover your area.
- Quote. Contractors reply with availability and a price, or ask to see the floor first.
- Compare. You check the system, thickness, preparation, timing and warranty side by side.
- Hire. You hire the contractor you choose, or nobody. There is no obligation.
- Install. The contractor prepares the slab, installs the floor and tells you when it can be used.
Only pay a deposit against a written quote.
Types of Epoxy Floor
- Roller coat. Thin coats rolled onto concrete. The lowest cost option for light traffic.
- Self levelling. A thicker poured coat that flows to a smooth, seamless finish.
- Flake. Coloured vinyl flakes broadcast into the coating for texture and a speckled look.
- Metallic. Metallic pigments worked into the resin for a marbled, one-off finish.
- Non slip. Aggregate or grit added for grip in wet or oily areas.
- Epoxy mortar. Trowelled heavy-duty screeds for impact and heavy industrial wear.
Epoxy or Another Resin
- Epoxy. Hard, bonds well to concrete and resists many chemicals. Most systems yellow in sunlight.
- Polyurethane. More flexible and scratch resistant. Often used as a topcoat or for thermal shock.
- Polyaspartic. Cures fast and resists UV, so floors return to use sooner. Usually costs more.
- Other resins. Methyl methacrylate (MMA) and cementitious urethane suit cold rooms and food plants.
Not all resin flooring is epoxy. A good quote names the resin and the system thickness.

Request Free QuotesWhat to Include in Your Request
- Your town or city and suburb.
- The type of property: home, garage, shop, office, factory or warehouse.
- The approximate floor area in m².
- The current surface: bare concrete, tiles, old paint or an old coating.
- The finish you want: solid colour, flake, metallic, self levelling or non slip.
- When you would like the work done, and whether it must happen after hours.
- Photos of the floor, if the form or WhatsApp lets you send them.
Availability
Availability depends on your area, the size of the job and the season. Contractors are independent and decide which jobs they take on, so not every request can be matched. Larger and remote jobs may need a site visit before a firm price.
Comparing Contractors
Whoever you consider, compare like with like:
- System. The resin type, number of coats and total thickness in mm.
- Preparation. Diamond grinding or shot blasting, crack repair and moisture testing.
- Timing. Days on site, curing time and when you can walk or drive on the floor.
- Track record. Photos of their own completed floors and contactable references.
- Warranty. What it covers, for how long, and what voids it.
- Price terms. Per m² or fixed price, VAT, deposit and what counts as an extra.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this service work?
You send one request with your town, floor area and the finish you want. Independent flooring contractors that may cover your area can contact you with availability and prices. You compare and choose, or hire nobody.
Does it cost anything to request quotes?
No. Requesting quotes is free and there is no obligation. You pay the contractor you hire, on their terms.
Do you install epoxy floors?
No. We do not install floors or employ installers. Independent contractors quote and do the work.
How much does epoxy flooring cost per m²?
Published South African rates put entry-level epoxy coatings at about R165 to R350 per m², flake at R350 to R1,200 and metallic at R650 to R1,500. Preparation and repairs can add to that.
How soon can I use the floor?
Many standard epoxies take foot traffic after about a day and vehicles after 5 to 7 days. Fast-cure systems are quicker. Your contractor should confirm times for the product they use.
Can epoxy go over tiles?
Sometimes, if the tiles are well bonded and properly prepared, but grout lines can show through. Many contractors prefer to remove tiles first. Ask for their recommendation for your floor.
